Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of three new high-output electric power units under its eGX Series, marking a major step toward the electrification of construction and industrial equipment. The company will begin supplying the new models—GXE4.0D, GXE6.0D, and GXE9.0D—to OEM customers starting this fall, initially in Japan and later expanding to Europe and the United States.

The newly introduced models deliver maximum outputs of 3.7 kW, 6.0 kW, and 8.7 kW respectively, significantly expanding the application range of Honda’s electric power units. Developed using motor technology from Honda’s electric motorcycles, the power units are designed for heavy-duty equipment such as excavators and high-pressure washers, sectors traditionally dominated by gasoline and diesel engines.

Honda will showcase the new models globally for the first time at the International Construction & Survey Productivity Improvement EXPO (CSPI 2026), scheduled from June 17 to 20 in Chiba, Japan.

A key feature of the new eGX Series is compatibility with Honda’s Mobile Power Pack e: (MPP), a swappable lithium-ion battery system. The technology allows users to replace depleted batteries with fully charged ones, reducing downtime and enabling continuous operation at worksites.

Since the launch of the eGX Series in 2021, Honda’s lower-output electric power units have been widely adopted for compact equipment such as rammers and plate compactors. Their low-noise operation and zero exhaust emissions have made them suitable for indoor environments, residential areas, and nighttime construction projects.

The latest models also offer easier startup, lower maintenance requirements, and reduced emissions of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide. Honda stated that the modular system design—including separate motor units, battery boxes, and interface units—provides manufacturers with greater flexibility in product development.

By expanding its electrified power product lineup, Honda aims to support the construction and industrial sectors in reducing environmental impact while advancing sustainable technologies.

The company’s participation in CSPI 2026 highlights its broader strategy of combining innovation with cleaner energy solutions to meet evolving global demands for sustainable industrial operations.
