Tata Power and Vivanta Aluva, Kochi have commissioned a 120 kW DC fast charger at the hotel, marking Tata Power’s first high-capacity 120 kW public EV charging station in Kerala.

The new charging facility is aimed at supporting the state’s growing electric vehicle (EV) adoption and providing faster charging access for intercity travellers. The dual-gun, dual-parking charger can charge two electric vehicles simultaneously.

The deployment strengthens Tata Power’s EZ Charge network in Kerala and adds high-capacity charging infrastructure along key travel corridors connecting Kochi with Thrissur and other destinations across the state.

Kerala has recorded increasing EV penetration, creating a need for expanded and strategically located fast-charging infrastructure. The new charger at Vivanta Aluva integrates EV charging with a hospitality destination, offering travellers a convenient charging option during their journeys.

Customers can access Tata Power’s charging network through the Tata Power EZ Charge app, which includes features such as Auto Charge for simplified charging sessions and Trip Planner for locating charging stations and planning routes.

Its charging network covers highways, airports, tourist destinations, malls, residential communities and commercial locations.

The company aims to expand its network to 750,000 home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030.

The 120 kW charger at Vivanta Aluva is expected to improve charging availability for EV users travelling across Kerala while supporting the state’s transition towards a more connected electric mobility ecosystem.
