The Government of India is promoting green construction in National Highway projects through the Green Highways Policy and IRC guidelines. The Indian government has declared Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) as unlicensed activities, facilitating private installations under Ministry of Power guidelines. To enhance public charging infrastructure, it allocated Rs. 2,912.50 crore through FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE schemes. These efforts aim to promote electric mobility and expand charging access nationwide.

The Government of India has allocated Rs. 1,772 crore under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme to incentivize the purchase of 24,79,120 electric two-wheelers by offering upfront discounts. Additionally, EV manufacturers benefit from the Production Linked Incentive Scheme, promoting local component manufacturing and resulting in substantial reimbursements to OEMs.
