E.ON and BYD have forged a strategic partnership to enhance electric mobility and energy solutions across Europe, launching their first joint offering in Germany in November 2026. The collaboration integrates electric vehicles and smart charging technologies for customers, aiming to streamline energy consumption and expand into other European markets while promoting bidirectional charging.

In August, electric vehicle sales in Australia surpassed petrol car sales for the first time, with over 27,000 battery electric vehicles sold, making up 24.9% of total new vehicle sales. The surge is attributed to lower running costs, broader model availability, government incentives, and a shift toward cleaner vehicles.

Samsung SDI has acquired General Motors' 49.99% stake in the SynergyCells joint venture, taking full ownership of a battery cell manufacturing plant in Indiana. This change comes amid declining electric vehicle demand but allows Samsung SDI to pivot toward the energy storage market while enabling GM to minimize battery manufacturing costs.
