Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has unveiled the Next Gen Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago.ev, introducing a comprehensive redesign aimed at redefining expectations in India’s hatchback segment. Built on a decade of trust from more than 700,000 customers, the new Tiago lineup arrives with refreshed styling, advanced technology, multiple powertrain choices, and enhanced safety features.

Priced from ₹4.69 lakh for the petrol-powered version and ₹6.99 lakh for the Tiago.ev under full ownership, the new range will be available in Petrol, iCNG, and Electric variants, offering buyers flexibility based on their driving needs and budget.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra said the hatchback segment had long been underserved despite remaining the gateway to personal mobility for millions of Indian families. He described the Next Gen Tiago as a “full reinvention” rather than a simple upgrade.

The new Tiago adopts a more premium and futuristic design language with features such as Lux Beam headlamps with LED DRLs, connected Halo Lightbar tail lamps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and new colour options including Varanasi Vibrance and Dehradun Dew. The interior receives major upgrades with dual digital screens, a redesigned dashboard, wireless smartphone connectivity, and segment-first features like a 360-degree surround-view system and blind-view monitor.

Built on Tata’s X-ALFA architecture, the petrol and iCNG variants are designed to deliver a more engaging driving experience while retaining practicality for daily use. Customers can choose between manual and AMT transmissions.

Meanwhile, the Tiago.ev focuses on affordability and smart ownership economics. Tata claims the electric hatchback can recover its ownership cost within four to five years through lower running expenses. The EV also introduces an industry-first Lifetime HV Battery Warranty and enhanced fast charging capability, adding 100 km of range in just 18 minutes.

Safety remains a major focus across the lineup. The Tiago features advanced collision protection technologies and driver-assistance systems, while the Tiago.ev comes equipped with six airbags and electronic stability systems as standard.

Tata Motors says the Next Gen Tiago lineup reflects its broader strategy of making aspirational, technology-driven, and safe mobility accessible to Indian consumers across price segments.
