Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd. (KWV), the electric mobility arm of Kinetic, is evaluating opportunities to expand its electric two-wheeler business into select international markets as it looks to build a global presence.
The company’s initial focus includes Turkey in Europe; Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in neighbouring markets; and Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt in Africa. Kinetic EV is currently assessing market potential, regulatory requirements, customer needs and potential partnerships in these countries.
The international expansion marks the next phase of Kinetic EV’s growth strategy, with the company targeting markets that offer potential for electric two-wheelers and have developing EV ecosystems.
The move comes alongside the company’s ongoing expansion in India. Kinetic EV currently operates 45 exclusive showrooms across the country, with another 40 outlets expected to become operational over the next two months. The company has also issued 150 Letters of Intent (LOIs) for its exclusive dealership network, indicating growing interest among prospective dealers.
To lead its international business development efforts, Makarand Joshi has joined Kinetic Watts & Volts. Joshi brings more than two decades of experience in international market development for Indian automotive products, with experience across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
His experience covers multiple automotive segments, including two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and tractors, as well as distribution network development and business expansion.
Kinetic Watts & Volts Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia said international markets represent an important opportunity as the company enters the next phase of its electric mobility journey. He added that the company is focused on identifying suitable markets, partnerships and opportunities to take its electric mobility proposition global.
Firodia also highlighted the company’s domestic expansion, noting that the growing showroom network and dealership interest provide a strong foundation for its international ambitions.
Kinetic EV said it will continue evaluating the identified markets while building the capabilities, partnerships and market understanding required to establish itself as a global electric mobility brand.
