Bijliride, an EV mobility and infrastructure platform, has partnered with Swiggy and Zomato to provide their delivery partners with access to electric two-wheelers through its rental platform.
The partnership enables delivery riders to use electric two-wheelers without the upfront cost associated with vehicle ownership. Bijliride currently has more than 5,500 EVs deployed and supports riders through battery swapping, doorstep battery delivery and 24/7 on-road assistance.
The company said the rental model is designed to address key challenges faced by delivery partners, including vehicle affordability, charging, battery availability, maintenance and downtime. Riders also receive onboarding support covering EV operations, battery swapping or charging and safe riding practices.
Bijliride currently operates across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. The company has facilitated more than 35,000 battery swaps and 9,000 battery deliveries, while its app has recorded over 200,000 downloads.
According to Shivam Sisodiya, Co-Founder and CEO, Bijliride, the partnership aims to make electric mobility more accessible to delivery workers by reducing the financial and operational barriers associated with EV ownership.
Bijliride plans to expand its presence across existing markets and build additional partnerships across the food delivery, quick-commerce and last-mile mobility sectors. The company is also working towards developing a full-stack mobility platform combining EV rentals, fleet management, battery infrastructure, technology and on-ground support.
