ChargePoint, a leader in electric vehicle charging, recently announced a partnership with the National Electrical Contractors Association. NECA is the voice of the $202 million electrical construction industry. There are 118 chapters around the country. This partnership will accelerate the deployment and adoption of EV charging. The partnership will see ChargePoint and NECA develop training programs for their electrical contractor members to install EV charging infrastructure. NECA’s Industry Alliance Network is a network that connects NECA contractors with companies at the forefront of the electrical industry.
This partnership is coming as the federal government prepares for billions in EV charging via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, which includes $7.5 billion for highway charging and community charging, and billions more to electrify government and private fleets.
Anthony Harrison, ChargePoint’s senior director of North American policy, stated that “Through this cooperation, we are connecting technical experts with NECA’s network of thousands electrical contractors, who have been key partners in ensuring connected, software-enabled charger solutions are installed proficiently across the country.” ChargePoint, in partnership with NECA is ensuring that electrical contractors have the technical expertise necessary to accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure, and allow charging wherever drivers live, work and play.
David Long, NECA CEO, stated that “Connecting our members with products and services leading our industry is a key value we offer.” The Industry Alliance Network provides new opportunities to increase the dialogue between these brands, NECA contractors, and other stakeholders. NECA National’s goal is to offer solutions that are more accessible and pay greater attention within the industry.
ChargePoint will offer the required training and education to the association’s members on how to install EV charging throughout the country. ChargePoint believes that its partnership with NECA can have a positive impact on the electrical construction industry. NECA’s digital marketing network, social media, and communications platform will be used to help expand EV charging infrastructure further and wider than ever before.
