Okinawa Autotech, the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer overtakes Ola Electric and becomes the top electric two-wheeler (E2W) company in India despite fire incidents.
Okinawa Autotech sold 9,309 units and Ola Electric sold 9,225 units in the month of May according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).
Okinawa Autotech sold 217 units in May 2021. The company recently invested Rs 1,200-1,500 crore in electric two-wheelers in the coming 2 years.
The company also recalled around 3,215 units to fix the battery issues as per a report. The Indian government also plans to introduce electric vehicle battery standards for electric two-wheelers.
