Though India’s EV revolution is mainly led by 2 wheelers, the electric cars are not very behind. As far as the electric car sales are concerned, in the month of April 2021, Tata sold 525 units of Nexon EV in India thus making it the best-selling electric car in India. However, it had registered sales of a total of 632 units in the month of March 2021. This is an M-o-M sales fall of nearly 17%.This was followed by the MG ZS EV which sold 156 units. This was as per the data released by Jato Dynamics. With the rising air pollution and environmental impact of traditional vehicles, many consumers are consciously making the choice to go electric.
Tata Motor came in third with its Tigor EV selling 56 units whereas Hyundai Kona EV could sell 12 units. Thus, Tata Nexon EV and Tigor EV together held a 77% share in the Indian electric car market
