Escorts Becomes First company In India To Get Budni Certification For Electric Tractor

Escorts Ltd, India’s leading engineering conglomerate, Agri machinery Division (EAM)  got certification from Central Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Budni for its Electric Tractor with the description “ESCORTS LIMITED, Farmtrac (26E) AGRICULTURE TRACTOR manufactured by M/s. Escorts Limited” that the same complies with the provision of Central Motor Vehicles rules, 1989.

The company stated that three years ago, in 2017, they showcased futuristic and eco-friendly electric tractor concepts in variants of Mechanical & Hydrostatic power transmission platforms for sustainable and green agriculture. They started export of these tractors in 2019 and now with this certification, will be launching in the domestic market too. The launch and other details will be shared soon.

Escorts limited is the first and the only company to receive the CMVR certificate (Central Motors vehicles rules,1989) in India for the Electric Tractor.

The tractor will be called – Farmtrac (26E) AGRICULTURE TRACTOR and will be categorised in 21-30 HP category. It is fitted with a 3-phase AC induction motor supplied by Kirloskar. On full charge, the tractor runs for 5 to 8 hours depending on size of battery and application. It has a Lithium based battery.
