Ashok Leyland has launched TWIN FUEL variants of its popular light commercial vehicles (LCVs) — DOST and DOST+ XL — marking a significant step toward sustainable and flexible mobility solutions in India’s fast-growing logistics segment.
The newly introduced models feature advanced dual-fuel technology, enabling seamless switching between Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and petrol. This innovation aims to address a major concern among CNG vehicle users—range anxiety—by ensuring uninterrupted journeys even when CNG refuelling stations are unavailable.
The vehicles were unveiled by Amandeep Singh, in the presence of Viplav Shah. Speaking at the launch, Singh highlighted that the TWIN FUEL technology allows operators to benefit from the cost efficiency of CNG while retaining petrol as a reliable backup, ultimately reducing operating costs and emissions.
The TWIN FUEL DOST offers a payload capacity of 1,218 kg and a driving range of up to 400 km, supported by a 120-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank. Meanwhile, the DOST+ XL variant delivers a higher payload capacity of 1,410 kg, with a larger 148-litre CNG tank and a combined range of up to 500 km, enhancing productivity for commercial users.
According to Shah, the new variants are designed to empower small businesses and fleet operators by providing greater operational flexibility and improved earning potential. He added that the vehicles are particularly suited for urban and semi-urban logistics, including last-mile delivery operations.
The launch aligns with Ashok Leyland’s broader strategy of offering future-ready mobility solutions while supporting India’s sustainability goals. By integrating cleaner fuel options with practical usability, the company aims to strengthen its leadership in the LCV segment.
The TWIN FUEL DOST is priced from ₹8.20 lakh (ex-showroom), while the DOST+ XL starts at ₹8.75 lakh (ex-showroom), making them competitively positioned for small and medium enterprises.
With this move, Ashok Leyland continues to innovate in the commercial vehicle space, addressing evolving customer needs through technology-driven, cost-efficient, and environmentally conscious solutions.
