Toyota Kirloskar Motor to Set Up ‘TKM Bizintel Hub’ in Karnataka to Boost Digital Innovation

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka to establish the “TKM Bizintel Hub” at KWIN City in Bengaluru, marking a major step toward strengthening India’s role in global automotive innovation and intelligent manufacturing.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Industries Minister Dr. M.B. Patil, senior government officials, and executives from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Spread across 300 acres, the proposed hub will focus on testing and evaluation of advanced mobility solutions, digital transformation across business operations, and intelligent manufacturing initiatives. The project is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Toyota’s supply chain while leveraging India’s strong engineering and information technology talent base.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah described Toyota as a trusted long-term partner in Karnataka’s growth journey. He said the initiative would deepen technology-led investments, create quality employment opportunities, and reinforce Karnataka’s status as a global investment destination.

TKM Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura emphasized that India remains a strategically important market for Toyota’s innovation and sustainable mobility goals. He stated that the Bizintel Hub would support advancements in digital transformation, testing activities, and intelligent manufacturing while aligning with national initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The upcoming facility will be located in KWIN (Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation) City along the Doddaballapur–Dabaspet Highway. The integrated smart city project is being developed by the Karnataka government with a focus on innovation, healthcare, and information technology.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor currently operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi, Karnataka, with a combined installed production capacity of up to 3,42,000 vehicles annually. The company manufactures popular models including the Toyota Innova HyCross, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Toyota Camry Hybrid.

With over 6,665 employees and continued investments in advanced mobility and localization, Toyota’s latest initiative is expected to strengthen India’s position as a future-ready automotive and technology hub while supporting sustainable economic growth and innovation-driven employment.
