AVILOO, an independent electric vehicle (EV) battery diagnostics company, has expanded its AVILOO Battery Warranty to 14 additional European markets, bringing the service’s total coverage to 24 countries across the continent.
The expansion, effective September 7, follows the warranty’s initial launch in France and Sweden in June, followed by its rollout in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland in July. The latest expansion adds the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Iceland, Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland and Liechtenstein.
The company said the warranty is designed to address uncertainty surrounding the condition and future performance of used EV batteries. As the battery represents one of the most expensive components of an electric vehicle, AVILOO said independent battery-health data can provide greater transparency and confidence for buyers and dealers in the used EV market.
Warranty Uses Independent Battery Health Data
The AVILOO Battery Warranty is offered as a standalone product separate from the company’s existing independent battery certificate. It is managed through AVILOO Connect, a digital dashboard designed for professional EV remarketing operations.
Through the platform, dealers, fleet operators and remarketing companies can manage battery testing and warranty issuance from vehicle inspection through resale.
For each eligible vehicle, AVILOO calculates an individual State of Health (SoH) threshold using its proprietary battery diagnostics database. The threshold represents the minimum battery health that the vehicle is expected to maintain over 20,000 kilometres during the one-year warranty period.
The company said the warranty allows dealers to offer buyers an independently underwritten battery protection product without taking on the associated financial risk.
Buyers Receive Financial Compensation
Under the warranty, vehicle owners can conduct an AVILOO FLASH Test during the one-year coverage period. The three-minute diagnostic assesses battery capacity, thermal management and charging capability against original factory specifications.
AVILOO said its FLASH Test covers 96% of EV models currently on the road.
If a vehicle’s battery State of Health falls below the guaranteed threshold during the warranty period, the buyer receives a fixed compensation payment determined according to the local market, along with a refund of the FLASH Test cost.
For the 14 newly added markets, compensation ranges from €3,000 in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Luxembourg to 73,000 Czech koruna in the Czech Republic, 1 million Hungarian forints in Hungary, 13,000 Polish złoty in Poland, 430,000 Icelandic króna in Iceland and CHF 2,800 in Liechtenstein.
AVILOO Expands Automotive Partnerships
AVILOO said its independent battery diagnostics are already being used by several major automotive companies and mobility businesses across Europe.
Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Porsche Holding have selected AVILOO as a third-party battery testing provider for dealerships, while leasing companies including Ayvens and Arval use the technology in their end-of-lease remarketing processes.
Auction groups BCA and Cox Automotive have also integrated the FLASH Test into their European operations. Dealer groups Hedin and Emil Frey are among the other companies using AVILOO’s battery diagnostics.
Company Highlights Used EV Battery Health Data
The warranty expansion follows AVILOO’s launch of its first EV Performance Report, which the company plans to publish twice a year.
The report is based on more than 500,000 independent battery tests covering 20 popular EV models, forming part of AVILOO’s global database of more than 1 million tests. The data covers markets across North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
According to AVILOO, the analysis tracks battery health at mileage points of 50,000 km, 100,000 km and 150,000 km. The company reported that vehicles of the same model and mileage can show battery-health differences of up to 13.5%.
AVILOO CEO Marcus Berger said the warranty expansion is intended to establish greater confidence in the used EV market by providing buyers and dealers with battery protection based on independent measurement data.
The company said the broader rollout is aimed at supporting greater transparency in used EV transactions and strengthening consumer confidence in electric mobility.
