Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has announced an ambitious global expansion strategy for its electric scooter business, identifying five high-potential international markets—the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia—as the first phase of its overseas growth plan.
The move marks a major milestone in VinFast’s long-term vision to build a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem and accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation across emerging markets with strong urban mobility demand.
According to the company, the selected markets feature favorable demographics, rapidly growing two-wheeler usage, and an increasing shift toward electrified mobility solutions, making them ideal destinations for VinFast’s next phase of expansion.
Battery-Swapping E-Scooters at the Core
As part of its international rollout, VinFast plans to introduce a diverse portfolio of battery-swapping electric scooters, including the VinFast Flazz, Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, along with additional new models to be launched in the future. Each model will be tailored to local road conditions, riding habits, and consumer preferences.
The company’s strategy places strong emphasis on battery-swapping technology, offering users faster energy replenishment and greater convenience compared to traditional charging methods.
Retail Network and Ecosystem Expansion
VinFast aims to establish hundreds of retail outlets across the five markets by 2027, supported by a flexible and cost-efficient expansion model. This will integrate dealer networks, service workshops, financing solutions, and energy infrastructure, developed in collaboration with strategic partners, including V-Green, VinFast’s global charging and battery-swapping infrastructure arm.
Strong Domestic Foundation
The global push builds on VinFast’s robust performance in Vietnam, where the company delivered 406,453 electric scooters in 2025, securing the leading market share in the country’s scooter segment. With more than 10 e-scooter models across multiple segments, VinFast has positioned itself as a dominant player in Vietnam’s two-wheeler EV market.
Entering 2026, VinFast finalized its master plan for three distinct e-scooter lines—mainstream, premium, and sport—and simultaneously launched seven new models in the premium and sport categories. These launches aim to strengthen the company’s competitive edge in design, performance, and product differentiation.
Philippines Leads Overseas Rollout
The Philippines has been chosen as VinFast’s first strategic overseas market for electric scooters. The company has partnered with five established dealers—Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation, and ARC Trading—to build a nationwide retail and service network across Luzon and Mindanao.
VinFast stated that these partners bring strong market expertise and a clear commitment to supporting the region’s green mobility transition.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the expansion, Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said that global e-scooter growth is a key pillar of the company’s long-term roadmap.
Through in-depth market research, close collaboration with local partners, and a comprehensive dealer and service ecosystem, VinFast is committed to delivering smart, sustainable, and accessible electrified mobility solutions that contribute meaningfully to the global green transformation,” she said.
Beyond Two-Wheelers
In parallel with its e-scooter expansion, VinFast continues to broaden its electric vehicle portfolio, offering models ranging from the VF 3 to the VF 9, further reinforcing its contribution to the global transition toward clean and sustainable transportation.
With strong manufacturing capabilities, competitive pricing, and an integrated EV ecosystem, VinFast aims to play a pivotal role in accelerating transportation electrification across Asia and beyond.
