Simple Energy, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Jitin Johnson as Head of Marketing and Kevin Thomas as Head of Brand as part of its nationwide expansion strategy. The company has also strengthened its marketing division, expanding the team to over 40 professionals to accelerate brand growth and customer engagement.
The strategic hires come as Simple Energy intensifies its efforts to scale its retail and service network, with plans to establish 150 retail stores and 200 service centers across India by March 2026.
With over 14 years of marketing experience, Johnson joins from River, where he served as Assistant General Manager – Digital Marketing. In his new role, he will lead Simple Energy’s omnichannel marketing strategy, focusing on brand development, digital transformation, and enhancing customer experience.
Simple Energy is redefining how India moves—blending performance, design, and purpose for the next generation of riders. I’m excited to build on this momentum, shaping a brand that’s as emotionally charged as it is,” said Jitin Johnson, Head of Marketing, Simple Energy.
Kevin Thomas, the newly appointed Head of Brand, brings 13 years of expertise in creative direction and visual design. Formerly Principal Visual Designer at Ultraviolette Automotive, Thomas has also held key positions at Amazon, Motorola, and OnePlus, driving creative innovation and design leadership.
“I’ve always believed that great automotive brands are built not just through engineering, but through emotion and storytelling. At Simple Energy, I’m excited to craft a brand that’s expressive, rider-centric, and deeply rooted in the culture of movement,” said Kevin Thomas.
Smitha Rao, General Manager – Brand & Marketing, Simple Energy, said the appointments reflect the company’s commitment to strengthening its brand and outreach.
With Jitin and Kevin leading key functions, we’re better positioned to enhance brand consistency, build deeper customer connections, and make electric mobility both aspirational and accessible,” Rao added.
Simple Energy recently launched its Simple ONE Gen 1.5 and Simple OneS models, delivering industry-leading IDC ranges of 248 km and 181 km, respectively. The company also became India’s first OEM to commercially manufacture heavy rare-earth-free motors and to offer an 8-year motor warranty.
Currently operating 61 retail outlets across cities including Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Jaipur, Simple Energy plans to expand into five new markets, including Delhi and Patna, as it continues to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing EV landscape.
