Audi has revealed groundbreaking charging capabilities for its Q6 e-tron series, boasting swift charging times and advanced technological innovations.
With a state-of-the-art 800-volt architecture and a new preconditioned HV battery, the Q6 e-tron series offers impressive fast-charging capabilities. A mere ten minutes at a fast-charging station with a maximum power of 270 kW can replenish up to 255 kilometers of range under ideal conditions. Additionally, the high-voltage battery, consisting of twelve modules with a gross storage capacity of 100 kWh, can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes.
For charging stations utilizing 400-volt technology, bank charging is enabled, allowing the battery to be divided into two equal voltage batteries for parallel charging at up to 135 kW.
The charging management system supports the international standard CSS, ensuring fast and reliable charging. The HCP 5 high-performance computer manages the process within the vehicle’s electronic architecture, while the Smart Actuator Charging Interface Device facilitates communication between the vehicle and the charging station.
The Q6 e-tron series offers both DC and AC charging options via a CCS combo connector, with an additional AC charging connector available. Standard AC charging with 11 kW can be upgraded to 22 kW as an option. The “Plug & Charge” functionality simplifies the charging process, allowing for automatic initiation and billing via the myAudi App.
Audi customers also benefit from the Audi charging service, providing access to a dense network of over 630,000 charging points across Europe, including 3,000 HPC stations from IONITY. The recently opened Audi charging hubs in key urban locations offer quick-charging facilities equipped with second-life batteries for efficient energy storage.
With intelligent load control, Audi ensures efficient use of power grid resources at its charging hubs, further enhancing the overall charging experience for electric vehicle owners.
