Hyundai Motor Company introduced the IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup car during the official practice round for teams participating in the upcoming Hyundai N Festival motorsports event. This distinctive electric racing vehicle is derived from the acclaimed IONIQ 5 N high-performance electric vehicle (EV) and marks the beginning of a new chapter in eco-friendly racing.

The IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup car incorporates the same power electronics (PE) system found in the production IONIQ 5 N, featuring a more potent powertrain and larger battery capacity compared to the base IONIQ 5 model. The IONIQ 5 N stands as the N brand’s inaugural high-performance EV, offering robust acceleration and a power output of up to 650 PS, along with exceptional durability suited for rigorous circuit driving. It integrates Hyundai Motor’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) technology, a robust battery thermal management system, and a robust regenerative braking system.

Similar to the existing Avante (Elantra) N1 class, the IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup car represents a premier racing vehicle designed for professional drivers competing in the N1 class, enhanced for circuit performance with slick tires. The forthcoming eN1 class, scheduled for introduction this year, will operate under open regulations, allowing teams to utilize various tire products without being limited to a single manufacturer.
