TVS Motor Reports Significant Growth In Sales, Electric Scooter iQube Soars

TVS Motor, a prominent Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, witnessed a nearly six per cent increase in sales last month. Notably, the sale of their electric scooter, iQube, has quadrupled compared to September of the previous year. TVS sold 4.02 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters last month, up from 3.79 lakh units in September the previous year. The domestic market saw the delivery of 3.86 lakh units last month, while the remaining units were exported. Additionally, TVS Motor recorded an eight per cent growth in exports for the same month.

Motorcycles from TVS Motor continued to lead the company’s sales in India, contributing three lakh units last month. They sold 1.86 lakh units of motorcycles, showing a ten per cent growth. Recently, the company launched the Apache RTR 310 motorcycle with a starting price of ₹2.43 lakh (ex-showroom). This motorcycle features a 312.2 cc engine with a 6-speed unit and a slipper clutch, capable of generating 35.11 bhp of power and 28.7 Nm of peak torque.

TVS Motor’s scooters also experienced an eight per cent growth last month, with 1.55 lakh units sold across India. They recently launched the X high-performance electric scooter in Dubai, priced at ₹2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The delivery of this electric scooter is expected to commence soon in India. It comes with a 4.44 kWh battery pack, offering a range of approximately 140 km, accelerating from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.6 seconds and achieving a top speed of 105 kmph.

A standout in TVS Motor’s September sales figures is their sole electric scooter currently available for sale, the iQube Electric scooter, which sold 20,356 units last month, marking a fourfold increase compared to September of the previous year when only 4,923 units were sold.
