Volvo Car India rolls out its first locally-assembled XC40 Recharge, a luxury electric SUV, from its Hoskote plant situated near Bengaluru. The Volvo XC40 Recharge was rolled out in India recently at a price of ex-showroom of Rs. 55.90 lakh. This move is in keeping with the brand’s goal to be an all-electric company by 2030.
Managing director of Volvo Car India, Mr Jyoti Malaya, in presence of Mr Pascal Kusters, its car plant head, flagged off the XC40 Recharge manufactured from the plant.
The Managing Director of Volvo Car India, Jyoti Malhotra, stated that the company had announced the launch of the all-electric XC40 Recharge in May. Today, they saw the first Volvo Car launched from the assembly line at the Hoskote plant. It strengthens their commitment to offering an Indian market a new model each year, he believes.
Volvo’s Car Plant Head, Pascal Kusters says that this rollout marks the beginning of Volvo’s journey towards becoming an all-electric luxury car manufacturer in India. Volvo’s current variety of internal combustion engine cars is released from the Hoskote facility.
Volvo recently introduced the 2023 lineup of petrol mild hybrid versions of the S90, XC40 and XC90, as well as its flagship model, XC90 in the country.
