Tata Power has commissioned a 60 kW DC fast-charging station at True Sai, an authorised Tata Motors showroom located at the Salem–Omalur highway junction in Narasothipatti, Tamil Nadu.
Located at the intersection of NH 44 and NH 544, the charging station is positioned to serve electric vehicle (EV) users travelling between Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Kerala, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai.
The highway-facing location allows intercity and long-distance EV users to access charging without making a significant detour into Salem city. The facility is located within an authorised Tata Motors dealership, providing users with an accessible charging point along a major transit route.
Dual-Gun CCS-2 Charging Facility
The new station is equipped with dual-gun CCS-2 connectors, enabling charging for a range of compatible passenger and light commercial electric vehicles.
The charging point forms part of Tata Power’s EZ Charge network, which has expanded to more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, over 250,000 home EV chargers, and more than 1,200 e-bus charging points across 700+ cities and towns in India.
The expansion is aimed at improving EV charging accessibility along urban and intercity routes and supporting the growing adoption of electric mobility.
EV users can locate the charging station, check real-time availability and initiate charging sessions through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application or RFID cards.
The Salem facility adds to the charging infrastructure available along key highway corridors in Tamil Nadu, supporting EV users undertaking intercity and long-distance travel.
