In a bold and innovative move, Kia Motors has unveiled its much-anticipated Design Cultural Communication Project at the 2024 Milan Design Week. Showcasing a fusion of art, technology, and philosophy, the exhibition challenges traditional notions of design and perception, inviting visitors to explore a world where opposites unite to create new dimensions of experience.

Housed at the prestigious Museo della Permanente in Milan, Italy, from April 15 to 21, the exhibition features works inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Renowned artists from around the globe have come together to present their interpretations of this philosophy through a diverse range of installations.

Personal and Collective:

Anna Galtarossa’s kaleidoscopic multi-sensory installation, ‘The Spirit of Disco,’ immerses viewers in a journey through her personal perspective, seamlessly blending the material world with augmented reality. In contrast, Riccardo Benassi’s conceptual piece, ‘Daily Dense Dance Desiderio,’ delves into the collective realm of techno-thoughts, offering a monochromatic reflection on ecstatic moments of collective practices.

Tangible and Intangible:

Multidisciplinary artist Sissel Tolaas pushes the boundaries of perception with ‘whereareWEarewhere,’ a high-tech apparatus designed to distribute a new architecture of senses. By introducing the concept of scent, Tolaas expands the realm of perception, offering visitors a glimpse into the future with ‘the smell of Opposites United 2024.’

Finite and Infinite:

Colombian artist Danilo Grande and Chinese artist Benny Lai showcase their collaboration, ‘Led Pulse,’ a mesmerizing blend of East and West. Their patented Neuronal LED technology brings to life ‘The Dragon0 Universe,’ a space that evolves with the audience, sparking reflections on the dualism between the individual and the collective.

This year’s exhibition marks a departure from traditional showcases, as Kia fosters dialogue and collaboration among participants from various fields. By transcending boundaries and embracing imagination, the exhibition invites visitors to explore a world where creativity knows no limits.

With its groundbreaking installations and thought-provoking concepts, Kia’s Design Cultural Communication Project promises to leave a lasting impression on the Milan Design Week landscape, shaping the future of design and artistic expression.
