Sokudo Electric India, a prominent player in the electric two-wheeler segment, has unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art motor and controller plant spanning 20,000 square feet in Greater Noida. This strategic move aims to bolster the company’s research and development (R&D) endeavors, enhance manufacturing efficiency, and pave the way for more affordable ‘Made in India’ vehicles.

Strategic Expansion for Affordable Electric Vehicles

With an investment of Rs. 10 crore, Sokudo Electric India is gearing up to expedite its production speed and develop four new electric two-wheeler models, all while maintaining affordability. The upcoming facility will not only support R&D efforts but also enable rapid prototyping and testing of new motors and controllers, ultimately aiming to achieve Zero Quality Defects (ZED).

Focus on R&D Advancements

Sokudo Electric India has long been dedicated to R&D advancements, evident through its substantial investments in product enhancements. Each of its four high-speed electric models and one advanced low-speed model has received approximately Rs. 5.5 crore in investment, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation and quality.

Reducing Reliance on External Suppliers

With the latest R&D investment, Sokudo Electric India aims to develop patented models equipped with advanced technologies, including IoT-based features and new CAN software and hardware functionalities. These enhancements, such as increased boot space and a touch-based system, are poised to meet the rising demand for high-performance, smart two-wheelers in the Indian market.
