As India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem continues to expand, EV charging and energy management company Kazam has launched a free seven-day nationwide programme to help eligible Charge Point Operators (CPOs) integrate their charging networks with Unified Bharat e-Charge (UBC) at no initial integration cost.
Unified Bharat e-Charge, an open interoperability layer being developed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), BHEL and NPCI, aims to simplify EV charging by enabling users to access multiple charging networks through compatible applications instead of relying on separate apps for different operators.
Once integrated, EV users will be able to discover charging stations, check real-time availability, compare tariffs, reserve or initiate charging sessions, and make payments across participating charging networks through a single interoperable platform.
Kazam said it enables CPOs to connect to the open network through its Beckn Provider Platform (BPP), allowing operators to continue using their existing charger management systems (CMS), customer applications and pricing models. The company added that operators with Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI)-compatible systems can typically complete integration, testing and certification within seven days.
“India does not need every charging operator to build another consumer application. It needs every reliable charger to become accessible through an open and trusted network,” said Akshay Shekhar, Co-founder and CEO of Kazam.
“Through this programme, we want to ensure that the cost of integration does not prevent capable CPOs from participating in Unified Bharat e-Charge. Kazam will provide the provider-side infrastructure so operators can connect their existing ecosystems without rebuilding them from the ground up,” he added.
Kazam said it is among the early technology partners supporting Unified Bharat e-Charge and is already live with BHIM and other ecosystem participants, enabling interoperable EV charging transactions on the network.
The company noted that participating CPOs will receive end-to-end onboarding support during the programme, including network assessment, OCPI integration, protocol enablement, sandbox testing and initial transaction validation.
According to Kazam, joining Unified Bharat e-Charge will allow CPOs to make their charging stations discoverable across a wider ecosystem of compatible applications while retaining control over their charging infrastructure, pricing and customer relationships. The interoperable architecture also facilitates the standardised exchange of charger availability, tariffs, charging session details, billing and settlement data.
The programme will be open for seven days beginning July 14, 2026, and interested CPOs can register by contacting Kazam for a technical assessment.
