Drivn, an electric vehicle (EV) leasing platform focused on heavy commercial fleets, has entered into a strategic partnership with BillionE Mobility to deploy 200 electric trucks, aiming to accelerate the adoption of electric freight transportation across India.

As part of the first phase of the partnership, 22 electric trucks will be deployed for a cement industry customer under a long-term contract. The deployment will establish an electrified freight corridor supported by dedicated EV charging infrastructure and integrated operational solutions.

According to the companies, the transition from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks to electric trucks is expected to reduce more than 4,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions annually, highlighting the environmental benefits of electrifying heavy commercial transport.

The partnership combines Drivn’s expertise in EV leasing with BillionE Mobility’s e-Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) capabilities to address key challenges associated with electric freight adoption, including vehicle financing, charging infrastructure, fleet operations, and vehicle uptime.

The companies stated that the collaboration is designed to support reliable and efficient long-haul freight operations while creating a scalable ecosystem for commercial electric trucking in India.

Following the initial deployment, Drivn and BillionE Mobility plan to expand the rollout of electric trucks under subsequent phases of the partnership, further strengthening the country’s transition toward sustainable freight transportation.

The companies said the initiative supports the broader adoption of zero-emission commercial vehicles while contributing to the decarbonisation of India’s logistics and heavy-duty transportation sector through integrated charging infrastructure and coordinated fleet operations.
