Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has crossed the 50,000-unit production milestone of the Škoda Kylaq, underscoring the Group’s strong commitment to the Government of India’s Make in India initiative and its growing manufacturing footprint in the country.

The Kylaq has emerged as a key growth driver for the Group, contributing significantly to Škoda Auto Volkswagen India’s 36% year-on-year growth in 2025. The milestone reflects the company’s strategy of scaling up India operations while steadily increasing localisation across its value chain.

Marking the occasion, Union Cabinet Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, congratulated the company for its achievement. “I congratulate Škoda Auto Volkswagen India on achieving this production milestone and for their continued commitment to the ‘Made in India’ initiative,” he said at the milestone celebration event.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, expressed gratitude to the Minister and highlighted the significance of the achievement. “The 50,000-unit milestone for the Kylaq reflects the deep trust and affection our customers have shown for this product. Built on the proven MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq’s success is a powerful validation that vehicles designed in India, both for India and the world, continue to earn admiration and confidence from customers domestically and globally,” Arora said.

At the same time, the company has strengthened engagement with domestic suppliers to achieve higher levels of localisation, reinforcing its focus on local sourcing and engineering capabilities.

The production milestone also reflects SAVWIPL’s long-term investment in India. Over the past 25 years, the Group has nurtured a skilled local talent pool and developed a robust, integrated manufacturing and supplier ecosystem in the country.

As Škoda Auto Volkswagen India continues to expand its model portfolio and scale up production across its Indian plants, the company remains focused on localisation, manufacturing excellence and supporting India’s ambition to become a global automotive manufacturing hub.
