Volvo Cars has expanded its Cross Country lineup into the electric era with the first look at the Volvo EX60 Cross Country, revealed alongside the debut of the all-electric Volvo EX60. The new variant combines the technology and performance of the EX60 with the bold, rugged styling and capability that has defined Volvo’s Cross Country models since their introduction in 1997.

According to Volvo, the EX60 Cross Country retains the highlights of the standard EX60, including class-leading electric range, fast charging, and advanced technology aimed at improving safety and everyday driving comfort.

A New Chapter for Volvo’s Cross Country Heritage

Volvo’s Cross Country nameplate has long been associated with a more adventurous and durable identity, featuring design and engineering updates built for exploration. With the EX60 Cross Country, Volvo says it is bringing that same spirit into its next generation of electric vehicles.

“The EX60 Cross Country is the EX60 for anyone with a ‘go anywhere’ attitude,” said Erik Severinson, Chief Commercial Officer. “Built to do more and see more, the EX60 Cross Country embodies not only the sense of exploration but also a reflection of achievement.”

Exclusive Design Touches and New Frost Green Finish

The EX60 Cross Country introduces a new exclusive exterior colour named Frost Green, inspired by Scandinavian nature. Volvo has also added distinctive Cross Country styling elements that set the model apart from the standard EX60.

Key design updates include:

  • Exclusive Cross Country wheels
  • Cross Country branding on the bumpers and D-pillar
  • Brushed stainless-steel skid plates at the front and rear
  • Wider rugged wheel arches for a stronger road presence

More Ground Clearance with Adjustable Air Suspension

While the EX60 already offers the elevated seating position expected from an SUV, Volvo says the Cross Country version boosts driver confidence even further.

The EX60 Cross Country rides:

  • 20 mm higher than the standard EX60
  • With air suspension, drivers can add another 20 mm of extra height when required

Volvo also noted that the air suspension can lower the vehicle at higher speeds to improve efficiency, stability, and aerodynamics, supporting longer-distance driving on highways.

Two AWD Powertrain Choices with Up to 640 km Range

Volvo confirmed two all-wheel-drive electric powertrain options for the EX60 Cross Country:

  • P10 AWD Electric — up to 640 km of range (WLTP, preliminary), launching first
  • P12 AWD Electric — a longer-range version expected shortly after

The company emphasized that range figures are based on preliminary WLTP testing and may vary depending on conditions such as temperature, driving style, speed, and vehicle specification.

Pre-Orders Begin in Select European Markets

The Volvo EX60 Cross Country is now available for pre-orders in some European markets, with Volvo stating that additional markets will follow later in 2026.

Volvo added that availability of certain features and services will depend on region and vehicle variant.
