Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has officially launched the all-electric Urban Cruiser Ebella, marking Toyota’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) entry in India. The new electric SUV arrives with two battery options, an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 543 km, and a suite of premium features aimed at redefining Toyota’s electric mobility offering for Indian customers.
Bookings for the Urban Cruiser Ebella opened on 20 January 2026, while the company said pricing will be announced soon.
Built on Toyota’s Multi-Pathway Electrification Strategy
Toyota stated that the Urban Cruiser Ebella is developed from the brand’s Urban SUV Concept, representing another step in its multi-pathway approach—an electrification strategy designed to offer multiple powertrain choices while supporting India’s decarbonization goals.

Two Battery Options, Up to 543 km Certified Range
Toyota confirmed the Urban Cruiser Ebella will be offered with two lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery options:
- 49 kWh (Grade E1) — 106 kW power, 189 Nm torque
- 61 kWh (Grades E2 & E3) — 128 kW power, 189 Nm torque, up to 543 km range (ARAI certified)
The electric SUV features front-wheel drive, instant torque delivery, and a low center of gravity designed to improve stability and ride comfort. Toyota also highlighted the inclusion of an energy-saving heat pump and manual battery pre-heating, supporting efficiency in colder conditions.
Charging Options Designed for City and Highway Use
The Urban Cruiser Ebella supports both AC and DC fast charging and is compatible with:
- CCS2 fast charging
- AC wall-mount charging
- A portable charging cable for daily convenience
Toyota’s connected services platform i-Connect adds features like remote charging operations, scheduling, and battery monitoring, helping customers manage charging more easily.

Toyota has given the Ebella a distinctive road presence with its “Urban Tech” design theme. Exterior highlights include:

- Rain-sensing wipers and a tight 5.2m turning radius for urban maneuverability
