ElectriGo, a full-stack electric bus leasing platform, has officially entered the electric bus leasing market for private bus operators, marking a significant step toward accelerating zero-emission mobility in India. As part of this launch, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Energy Mobility Solutions Ltd (GEMS) for the deployment of 50 electric buses across key transport routes.

The MoU was formalised on August 1, 2025, in Chennai and aims to drive the commercial adoption of electric buses in both public and contract transportation segments. In a parallel development, GEMS announced the launch of Ziel Mobility, a green aggregator ecosystem focused on electric passenger buses and electric trucks, to support large-scale electric mobility operations.

ElectriGo builds on the success of Turno, India’s largest electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) platform, launched in 2021 by former Zoomcar executives Hemanth Aluru and Sudhindra Reddy. Turno played a pivotal role in expanding EV adoption in underserved retail markets through innovative financing models, a battery buyback guarantee and expertise in battery repurposing, delivering tangible total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits for operators.

Launched in 2024, ElectriGo extends this mission-led approach to the electric bus ecosystem by offering a full-stack leasing model that includes integrated charging infrastructure, proactive maintenance and real-time telematics. The platform is designed to provide predictable performance and operational confidence to bus operators transitioning to electric fleets.

Commenting on the partnership, Sudhindra Reddy Pidapa, Co-founder of ElectriGo, said the MoU reflects a shared commitment to clean and cost-efficient mobility. “By combining ElectriGo’s full-stack leasing model with dependable on-ground operations, we are making electric buses not only accessible but also commercially viable for operators across India,” he said.

Sunil Kumar Ravindran, Director at GEMS and Ziel Mobility, said Ziel Mobility would serve as a critical operating layer within the broader EV ecosystem. “Our focus is on practical deployment rather than pilots, with active mining deployments and a clear roadmap of 200 buses, 150 trucks and 50 mining machines by FY 2026–27, supported by ElectriGo’s technology-backed financing, maintenance, battery and lifecycle support,” he said.

Under the agreement, ElectriGo will deliver the first tranche of 10 electric buses in Hyderabad on December 16. The buses will be operated with end-to-end maintenance and operational support from ElectriGo, ensuring high uptime, improved fleet efficiency and seamless day-to-day operations.

ElectriGo currently has an established presence across key markets including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan and the Delhi-NCR region. The partnership with GEMS further reinforces the company’s commitment to enabling scalable, reliable and economically viable electric bus operations across India.
