Electric mobility startup Lilypad has announced an aggressive fleet expansion plan to deploy 1,000 electric two-wheelers for last-mile delivery operations across Noida by mid-2026. The scale-up is supported by high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), private investors, and strategic partnerships across the EV ecosystem—most notably with Battery Smart, leading OEMs, and major delivery aggregators.

The company has committed ₹50 lakh of internal capital for the initial phase, alongside a ₹2.5 crore funding pipeline expected to be utilized over the next 7–8 months. The rollout kicks off this month with 150 EVs, followed by a phased addition of 250 vehicles every quarter, ensuring steady scale and reliable supply for delivery platforms.

Boost to Last-Mile EV Logistics

Prateek Darolia, B2B Lead at Lilypad, said: Last-mile delivery has been one of the strongest drivers of India’s EV adoption over the last five years. This deployment is a major step in our journey to empower gig workers and build a cleaner, more efficient urban mobility ecosystem across NCR.

Lilypad’s planned deployment covers the entire Noida region, supported by an extensive servicing, maintenance, and 24×7 roadside assistance network. The company also aims to expand its fleet to Delhi and Gurgaon, building an integrated NCR-wide EV logistics network.

Tech-Enabled, Rider-First EV Fleet

Each vehicle is equipped with:

  • IoT-enabled tracking
  • Real-time telematics
  • Geofencing
  • Remote immobilization
  • Fleet intelligence systems

These features are designed to ensure high uptime, increased safety, and enhanced operational visibility for enterprise and delivery partners.

Strong Environmental & Economic Impact

The EV deployment is projected to:

  • Cut up to 1,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually
  • Reduce gig riders’ operating costs by up to 30% compared to 125cc petrol two-wheelers
  • Create 150+ direct jobs across operations, service, and logistics
  • Enable 1,000+ gig workers to earn sustainably through EV-supported delivery roles

With one of the region’s most ambitious electric two-wheeler rollouts, Lilypad aims to emerge as a key EV logistics player in NCR while accelerating India’s clean mobility transition.
