Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited (WIML), a prominent manufacturer of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in India under the brand ‘Joy e-bike’ and ‘Joy e-rik,’ marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new assembly line facility for electric two-wheelers in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Dr. Nishikant Dubey, Member of Lok Sabha, and Mr. Yatin Gupte, Chairman & Managing Director of WIML, among other dignitaries, signals the company’s commitment to advancing electric mobility in India.
The new facility, spanning 15,000 sq. ft., is an extension of the existing factory in Vadodara, Gujarat. It aims to address the surging demand for electric two-wheelers in the Eastern and Northern regions of India, as well as the export market in Nepal. With an initial annual target of over 20,000 units, the assembly line will contribute not only to meeting the growing demand but also to generating employment opportunities and providing industry-specific training to workers.
Mr Yatin Gupte expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We are pleased to inaugurate our new facility with an assembly line in Deoghar, Jharkhand, to strengthen our commitment to advancing electric mobility in India.” He highlighted the strategic importance of the northern and eastern regions in the electric two-wheeler market, citing significant demand from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and the north-eastern regions.
Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited, showcasing its dedication to innovation, recently participated in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. At the expo, the company introduced the concept of its first hydrogen-powered electric two-wheeler alongside its existing product lineup, including high and low-speed models and the electric three-wheeler named ‘Joy e-rik.’ The company celebrated a significant achievement by surpassing 100,000 electric two-wheeler sales in India, symbolized by the rollout of the 100,000th unit, Mihos, from its advanced manufacturing plant in Vadodara.
