Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced plans to introduce electric vehicle services at prominent tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh. During a World Tourism Day event at the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium, Adityanath highlighted efforts to deploy electric buses and rickshaws and install solar lighting at select tourist spots.
He inaugurated an exhibition showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s tourist attractions, released a comprehensive booklet on these destinations, distributed kits to Youth Tourism Club members, and recognized leading tourism entrepreneurs in the state.
Adityanath emphasized the theme of “Tourism and Green Investment” for World Tourism Day, aiming to create a cleaner and more inviting environment for visitors by reducing reliance on generators and implementing solar lighting at tourist sites. Additionally, he expressed plans to exclusively introduce electric vehicle services at key tourist destinations across the state.
In a significant move towards promoting sustainable urban mobility, the Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has given the green light for the operation of air-conditioned electric buses in three key cities: Saharanpur, Ayodhya, and Firozabad.
