MG Motor India And IONAGE Forge Alliance To Boost EV Charging Infrastructure

MG Motor India, a renowned British automobile brand with a rich history of 99 years, has teamed up with IONAGE, a prominent eMobility Service Provider, to bolster destination charging infrastructure in India, promoting intercity travel using electric vehicles (EVs).

The partnership was officially announced during the inauguration of 10 destination charging stations across Lucknow, Trivandrum, and Cochin, marking the beginning of a transformative collaboration towards sustainable mobility. Through this joint effort, MG Motor will leverage IONAGE’s advanced e-mobility platform to provide EV owners with seamless access to MG Charge points. Electric vehicle owners will benefit from the convenience of the IONAGE App, enabling effortless access to charging stations, efficient planning of EV journeys, and easy vehicle charging at MG Charge facilities.

Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director of MG Motor India, expressed his excitement about partnering with IONAGE to establish a robust EV infrastructure in the country. He emphasized that the collaboration reflects MG Motor India’s commitment to empowering EV owners and operators with a seamless charging experience, while also supporting innovative startups like IONAGE within the EV charging ecosystem. MG Charge, an industry-first initiative by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), aims to facilitate green transportation and future-proof properties and communities of hotels, residential societies, public locations, and corporates.

Vimal Kumar, CEO of IONAGE, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with MG, a tech-driven and futuristic brand, to expand their presence to destination properties. The IONAGE platform is designed to act as an intelligent and user-friendly mobility assistant for both electric car operators and owners. It provides a seamless and emission-free driving experience, enhancing the overall transactional process related to electric vehicles.

The strategic collaboration will play a major role in helping MG Motor India achieve its ambitious goal of installing 1000 EV chargers in 1000 days nationwide through its MG Charge program. Together, MG Motor India and IONAGE aim to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India, driving the country towards a greener and cleaner transportation future.
