An official release stated that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath made the decision to make Uttar Pradesh an economy worth USD 1 trillion.
According to the chief minister, the auto and electric vehicle industries of central and western Uttar Pradesh have sufficient resources. They just need to be encouraged further as the demand for electric vehicles is increasing.
He stated that such a move would generate large-scale employment.
The Gross State Value Addition (GSVA), in the automotive industry, was USD 1.5 billion in 2019. This figure can increase to USD 5 billion over the next 5 years.
The release stated that the government will spend between USD 19-20 billion to develop the industry on 9,000 to 10,000 acres in western and central Uttar Pradesh.
Moreover, components and electric vehicles made in the country will be shipped to Australia, the USA, South Asia, and the UK.
The CM also stated that the state’s EV-charging network must be expanded. The electric vehicle industry focuses on EV charging and research. This industry plays an important role because of the importance of cell manufacture, battery, battery chemicals, fuel, and welding. This case will require the most skilled workers, including casting, welding machine operators, and electric car assembly technicians. According to the statement, these positions will offer maximum employment.
The state government has Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Hapur, Kanpur Nagar, Meerut, and Lucknow have been chosen to set up big companies to support the auto industry.
