BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) has achieved a major manufacturing milestone with the rollout of its 7 millionth vehicle from the Shenyang Production Base in China, underlining the BMW Group’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market and its push toward intelligent, digitalised manufacturing.

The milestone vehicle, a BMW 3 Series Horse Edition, rolled off the production line at BMW’s Shenyang facility, symbolising the company’s rapid localisation strategy, manufacturing excellence and innovation-driven growth in China.

“For more than 30 years, we have been deeply rooted in China. The seven-millionth BMW vehicle from our plant in Shenyang is a significant milestone in this success story,” said Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Production.

He added that the company is preparing to begin local production of the Neue Klasse models later this year, marking the beginning of a new era for BMW in China.

Birgit Boehm, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd., said the milestone reflects the trust of millions of Chinese customers and highlights the company’s future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.

“Seven million vehicles are far more than just a number — they represent seven million times that Chinese customers have chosen and trusted BMW,” she said.

BMW stated that the Shenyang Production Base has evolved into one of the company’s most important global production and innovation hubs, with capabilities spanning complete vehicle production, powertrain manufacturing, local R&D and supply chain integration.

The company’s BMW iFACTORY vision has played a key role in shaping the facility into a benchmark for intelligent manufacturing. Advanced digitalisation and artificial intelligence technologies have been integrated across production operations to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality control and operational coordination.

BMW said the facility’s transformation aligns closely with China’s broader push for industrial modernisation and sustainable manufacturing growth.

The automaker is also investing heavily in workforce transformation and employee upskilling to support the upcoming Neue Klasse generation of electric vehicles. The Shenyang base is currently upgrading its production systems, digital architecture and supply chain capabilities to support local production of Neue Klasse models.
