BMW Group has revealed the latest generation of its flagship luxury sedan, the BMW 7 Series, integrating cutting-edge technologies from its Neue Klasse platform to deliver a new benchmark in premium mobility.
First introduced in 1977, the 7 Series has long served as BMW’s technological showcase. The latest model represents the most extensive update in its history, combining advanced digital features, electrified powertrains, and a refreshed design language aimed at reinforcing its leadership in the luxury segment.
The exterior adopts a bold new identity, highlighted by a monolithic design, illuminated kidney grille, and crystal-style headlights. Inside, the cabin emphasizes comfort and innovation, featuring high-end materials such as leather, wood, and crystal glass, along with an immersive lighting system.
A key highlight is the debut of BMW Panoramic iDrive and the new BMW Passenger Screen, enhancing both driver interaction and passenger entertainment. Rear-seat occupants benefit from the upgraded Theatre Screen, offering 8K streaming, gaming, and video conferencing capabilities, supported by a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos.
The sedan is equipped with BMW Operating System X and advanced connectivity features, including AI-powered voice control integrated with Amazon Alexa, digital key functionality, and over-the-air software updates.
In terms of powertrains, the new 7 Series offers a wide range of options, including mild hybrid combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric variants such as the BMW i7. The electric models now deliver a range exceeding 720 km (WLTP), enabled by sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology and advanced battery cells.
Driver assistance systems have also been enhanced, incorporating AI-based features for improved safety and convenience. These include hands-free driving at speeds up to 130 km/h in certain regions and advanced parking assistance systems.
BMW has also emphasized sustainability, with resource-efficient production processes, increased use of recycled materials, and renewable energy in manufacturing. The vehicle’s lifecycle carbon footprint is independently verified, aligning with the company’s broader climate goals.
Production of all variants will take place at BMW’s Dingolfing plant in Germany, with the global market launch scheduled to begin in July 2026.
With the new 7 Series, BMW aims to blend luxury, performance, and future-ready technology, setting a new standard for flagship sedans in an increasingly electrified automotive landscape.
