Renault Group has unveiled its ambitious “futuREady India” strategy, positioning India as a key driver of its next phase of global growth and aiming to make it one of the brand’s top three markets by 2030.
Announced during CEO François Provost’s visit to India, the plan marks the local rollout of Renault’s broader global strategy. The initiative focuses on expanding product offerings, strengthening engineering capabilities, and transforming India into a major technology and export hub.
As part of its largest-ever product push in the country, Renault plans to expand its portfolio to seven models by 2030. These vehicles will span multiple segments—from compact cars to SUVs—and will feature a mix of powertrains, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, and fully electric options. The lineup will be built on two new platforms, designed with a multi-energy approach to meet diverse customer needs.
Among the key highlights is the continued momentum of the Renault Duster, unveiled earlier in 2026, alongside the introduction of the Bridger Concept, previewing a new compact SUV with an electric variant. Renault is also aiming to enhance customer experience through its “Renault Forever” initiative, which includes a 7-year warranty and a focus on service quality.
India will also play a central role in Renault’s global operations. The company’s engineering hub in Chennai—one of its largest worldwide with over 6,000 engineers—will take on expanded responsibilities, including the development of vehicle architectures and technologies for both domestic and international markets.
On the manufacturing front, Renault has gained full ownership of its Chennai plant, enabling greater localisation, improved supply chain efficiency, and stronger integration with suppliers. The facility is set to become a strategic export hub, particularly for markets such as South America.
Renault aims to generate €2 billion in annual exports from India by 2030, covering vehicles, components, and research and development services. According to the company, India represents a significant share of its future growth potential and will be instrumental in enhancing global competitiveness.
With “futuREady India,” Renault is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country, positioning it at the heart of its evolving global strategy and the transition toward electrified and sustainable mobility.
