Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has crossed the milestone of 4 lakh electric scooters manufactured and sold in India, reflecting the company’s growing presence in the country’s mass-market electric mobility segment.

The company said the achievement highlights increasing consumer acceptance of affordable electric mobility solutions and reinforces Ampere’s position as one of India’s established electric two-wheeler brands. The milestone includes both high-speed and slow-speed electric scooters, with the latter not captured in the VAHAN registration database.

Ampere also reported 51% year-on-year sales growth in FY2025–26, while increasing its market share from 3.6% in FY2024–25 to 4.4% in FY2025–26, strengthening its position in India’s expanding electric two-wheeler market.

According to the company, its growth has been driven by electric scooters designed specifically for Indian operating conditions, with a focus on affordability, durability, safety and low total cost of ownership compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Ampere’s product portfolio is built on a 100% lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery platform, which the company says offers improved safety, thermal stability and a lifecycle of up to 200,000 kilometres.

Commenting on the milestone, Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said the achievement reflects growing customer confidence in the Ampere brand and validates the company’s strategy of offering dependable electric mobility solutions in the sub-₹1 lakh price segment. He added that the company expects the next phase of India’s EV growth to be driven by practical, mass-market products designed for everyday commuting.

Ampere also highlighted the performance of its product portfolio, with the Ampere Nexus receiving the “Electric Scooter of the Year 2025” award and demonstrating its capabilities through endurance rides, including the ascent of Kolli Hills’ 70 hairpin bends and a ride to Shipki La Pass at an altitude of 13,200 feet.

The company further noted that the Magnus Grand was recognised as “Electric Scooter of the Year 2026”, while the Magnus G-Max received the “Family Scooter of the Year 2026” title, reflecting growing industry recognition for its electric scooter lineup.

Supporting its expansion strategy, Ampere strengthened its dealership network by 12% during FY2025–26 compared with the previous financial year. The company also upgraded existing showrooms and expanded its service infrastructure to improve customer experience and dealer productivity. Ampere currently has a retail presence across metropolitan cities as well as emerging electric vehicle markets.

Looking ahead, the company said it will continue expanding its portfolio of LFP battery-powered electric scooters while strengthening its dealer and service network to support wider adoption of electric mobility across India.
