Electric mobility platform Yulu has announced that more than 12,000 women home service professionals across 12 Indian cities have used its electric mobility platform, highlighting the company’s growing role in enabling workforce participation and supporting the country’s expanding on-demand home services sector.

The milestone comes as India’s online home services market continues to grow rapidly, driven by platforms such as Urban Company, Snabbit, and Pronto. According to Redseer Strategy Consultants, the market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18–22%, reaching nearly US$1 billion by FY2030.

Yulu said approximately 35,000 women are currently employed in the on-demand home services segment, working in roles such as home cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry services. The company expects the workforce to expand further as the industry becomes increasingly formalised and access to affordable transportation improves.

The company attributes much of its impact to its electric vehicle (EV) sharing and battery-swapping ecosystem, which enables service professionals to commute efficiently between their homes, platform hubs, and customer locations. Yulu’s all-inclusive EV rental model includes battery swapping and maintenance, reducing the financial burden associated with vehicle ownership.

Its lightweight, speed-limited electric vehicles are designed for ease of use and do not require a driving licence under the applicable regulatory category, making them particularly accessible to first-time workers and individuals without prior vehicle ownership.

According to Yulu, access to affordable electric mobility enables women professionals to complete 25–30% more assignments each day, resulting in higher earnings while also providing greater flexibility to manage family and personal responsibilities.

Commenting on the milestone, Amit Gupta, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yulu, said affordable mobility plays a vital role in enabling women to participate in the workforce independently. He noted that the company’s platform helps service professionals increase their earning potential while supporting the rapid expansion of India’s on-demand home services industry.

Beyond the home services segment, Yulu said it has supported more than 550,000 delivery partners and gig workers across India. The company added that many users have reported income increases of 30–40% after switching from petrol-powered two-wheelers to Yulu’s electric mobility platform.
