Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) has signed a strategic agreement with Varex Imaging Corporation, a US-based global leader in linear accelerators and imaging technologies, to manufacture advanced cargo and vehicle inspection systems in India.
As part of the collaboration, SDHI will exclusively manufacture Varex’s high-energy imaging systems at its state-of-the-art shipyard located in Pipavav, Gujarat. These systems are engineered to inspect a wide range of cargo at both land borders and seaports, addressing the growing demand for sophisticated security infrastructure across the country.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Varex Imaging Corporation is internationally recognised for its dependable and innovative imaging solutions. The partnership marks a significant step in expanding access to world-class security imaging technologies for Indian agencies.
This initiative also supports the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign by fostering indigenous manufacturing capabilities and enhancing national self-reliance in critical security technologies.
