TECO Electric & Machinery has officially debuted at the 2025 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, the world’s premier event for green transportation and charging technologies, which kicked off on April 28 in California, USA. Marking a significant expansion of its global footprint, TECO is participating alongside its U.S. subsidiaries – TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company, NexE (a charging solutions provider), and newly acquired EVK Motor, a specialist in EV hairpin motors.

At the expo, the TECO Group is presenting cutting-edge EV technologies, including its electric drive axle systems and high-power DC fast charging stations. TECO Chairman Morris Li highlighted the company’s commitment to electrification, stating that EV powertrain systems and charging infrastructure are central to TECO’s strategic roadmap. The showcased products integrate TECO’s engineering strengths from both Taiwan and the U.S., underscoring the firm’s capability to expand in global markets.

A highlight of the presentation is the debut of the third-generation hairpin motor from EVK Motor. Designed specifically for electric axle (E-Axle) systems in medium and large commercial vehicles such as electric buses and trucks, this motor offers high power density, compact size, and a peak efficiency of 97.8%. The unit, including oil pump and radiator, weighs under 55 kilograms and supports a power range of 50 to 300 kW and torque from 150 to 550 Nm. This innovation helps automakers address constraints related to vehicle capacity, space, and weight, enhancing performance and energy efficiency.

In parallel, TECO-Westinghouse and NexE are showcasing a range of advanced DC fast chargers (30kW and 60kW) and the PowerCube portable power distribution system. These products support fast charging, smart energy management, and renewable integration. TECO currently offers charging solutions ranging from 30kW to 480kW and has established a charger assembly line in Texas to meet demand from institutions like school bus fleets.

Globally, TECO continues to expand its EV powertrain footprint across Taiwan, North America, Europe, India, and China. It powers 80% of Taiwan’s electric buses and has developed the country’s first hydrogen-electric bus using a 235kW SiC direct-drive system capable of 22 km/kg hydrogen efficiency. In India, mass production of 200kW and 235kW systems is set for Q3 following successful prototype deliveries.
