India witnessed a milestone in its electric mobility journey with the launch of the country’s first and largest EzEnergy Microgrid EV Charging Hub at Togami, Thakurpukur, Kolkata. Developed through a strategic public-private partnership between Andrew Yule & Company Ltd (AYCL), a historic PSU, and EzUrja Pvt Ltd, a next-generation e-mobility service provider, the project also stands as the second-largest EV charging hub globally.

Spread across 2 acres, the hub boasts 300 locally developed EV chargers with 80% localisation, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative. Powered by a microgrid integrating solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), it ensures eco-friendly and efficient charging solutions.

EzUrja, known for deploying AI, IoT, and a custom Charging Management System (CMS), is spearheading a transformative approach to India’s EV infrastructure. “This launch marks a significant milestone in India’s EV journey to be a major player globally,” said Mr. Ashhok Kapoor, MD of EzUrja. “We are creating a world-class EV charging ecosystem… showcasing the potential of indigenous technology and smart renewable energy management.”

Mr. Anant Mohan Singh, CMD of AYCL, added, “This microgrid EV charging hub, powered by local innovation, reflects our commitment to a sustainable future and technological advancement.”

Snap-E, East India’s largest e-fleet company, is also a key partner in the initiative. “This collaborative initiative sets a precedent for developing robust e-mobility infrastructure in India,” said Mayank Bindal, Founder & CEO of Snap-E.
