The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series made a stunning debut at this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, setting new standards in performance, style, and sophistication. This high-performance model, showcased in striking Chroma Flame paint, is designed to excel in every category, elevating both substance and style.

The Mustang GTD’s Performance package is its most notable feature, essential for achieving a sub-7-minute lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This package includes dive planes, a larger splitter, underbody flaps, and a drag reduction system on the rear wing. These active aerodynamic elements reduce drag without sacrificing grip while cornering. The Lightweight package, part of the Performance pack, removes some sound-deadening material and adds 20-inch magnesium wheels, enhancing both performance and aesthetics.

“Many sports cars excel at one thing. But for a car to set a quick lap at the Nürburgring, it needs to be great at everything. Cornering, grip, braking, acceleration, there’s not a single area where it can’t shine,” said Mustang GTD Chief Engineer Greg Goodall. “From the lightweight carbon fiber body on every GTD to the active aerodynamics of the Performance package, we’ve learned from motorsport how to make the Mustang GTD excel everywhere, all in the quest for a sub-seven-minute lap of the Nürburgring.”

The Mustang GTD’s interior, revealed for the first time at Le Mans, is designed with the driver in mind. Standard Recaro seats and a new Mustang GTD steering wheel ensure drivers remain focused and comfortable. The flat-bottom steering wheel features premium Dinamica inserts, leather wrap, and carbon-fiber elements. Exclusive to the GTD are buttons on the steering wheel for adjusting suspension firmness and exhaust mode, allowing for seamless adjustments while driving.

Two new buttons on the hero panel, ahead of the rotary gear selector, provide access to the Track Apps page and activate a front-axle lift function to navigate obstacles. The GTD also features 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, oversized and hexagonal for improved grip, enhancing control over the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle and the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine with over 800 horsepower.

“Mustang GTD does far more than elevate the Mustang’s performance envelope. It brings a new more focused, premium feel to the cabin,” said Design Manager Anthony Colard.

The Mustang GTD’s exterior is equally impressive. The new Chroma Flame paint is exclusive to this model and one of six standard colors, including Polymimetic Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Lightning Blue. The Carbon Series trim highlights the carbon-fiber body with unpainted hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck, and Magnetite-finished wheels. Optional body color or contrasting painted stripes and various brake caliper colors are also available.

The Mustang GTD also features advanced software, with the Unreal Gaming technology powering the Sync 4 infotainment system. The 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster display Mustang GTD-specific graphics, enhancing the driving experience.

With its European debut, the application window for the Mustang GTD has officially opened for the European market. Prospective customers in the European Union can apply to purchase this exceptional vehicle at TheMustangGTD.com starting at 1 P.M. CET on June 13.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series represents the pinnacle of Mustang performance, combining cutting-edge technology, motorsport-derived features, and unmatched sophistication, making a bold statement at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
