BMW Expands Summer 2024 Line-Up with New Drive Systems and Advanced Features

BMW is set to enhance its model range significantly in summer 2024, introducing new drive system variants, expanded standard and optional equipment, and advanced digital services. The updates will affect the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, BMW X1, and BMW X2, which will welcome additional diesel engine options starting July 2024. These models will now feature the Parking Assistant Professional, offering advanced automated parking capabilities controlled via smartphone.

BMW’s commitment to electrification continues with improvements to the charging station search function and in-car gaming options through the BMW Operating System 8.5 and 9. Enhanced interaction with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, now available in more languages, and the introduction of a new Silent Mode for a distraction-free driving experience further highlight BMW’s focus on digital innovation.

New Diesel Engine Options

The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will see the addition of a third diesel engine, the 120 kW/163 hp BMW 220d Active Tourer, known for its efficiency and power delivery thanks to 48V mild hybrid technology. This engine will also be available in the BMW X1 and X2, driving the front wheels and ensuring a balance of driving pleasure and fuel economy.

Enhanced Standard Equipment and Options

From July 2024, standard features for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, X1, and X2 will include seat heating for front passengers, M High-gloss Shadow Line trim, and Personal eSIM functionality. The Parking Assistant Professional will be available as an option, allowing for automated parking and complex manoeuvres via a smartphone. The Innovation and Comfort packages for these models will also see significant enhancements, including the addition of Driving Assistant and active seat functions.

Digital and In-Car Entertainment Upgrades

BMW is enhancing the iDrive system with QuickSelect for improved digital control functions. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant will now support Polish, Dutch, and Swedish, providing a more personalized user experience. The AirConsole platform will feature new games, and a new My Mode, Silent Mode, will be introduced to minimize distractions for drivers in select BMW models.

Upgraded Charging and Navigation Features

The cloud-based BMW Maps system will offer improved route planning with detailed information on parking, rest areas, and charging stations. These enhancements aim to provide a seamless driving experience for BMW’s electrified models, including the ability to adjust charging preferences and routes more precisely.

Extended Standard Features for BMW X5 and X6

From summer 2024, the BMW X5 and X6 will include the Driving Assistant as standard, enhancing safety with features like Lane Change Warning and rear crossing traffic warning. The BMW XM Label Red will offer new customization options with additional paint finishes and leather trim variants.

BMW’s summer 2024 updates reflect the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and enhanced driving pleasure, reinforcing its position as a leader in the premium automotive market.
