Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 Charges Ahead as 2023 CleanTechnica Car of the Year

In a resounding victory for Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup, the Hyundai IONIQ 6i has been crowned the prestigious 2023 CleanTechnica Car of the Year. This accolade, bestowed upon the all-electric sedan by the editorial team of the renowned clean-energy website, alongside input from its dedicated readership, reaffirms the IONIQ 6’s position as a frontrunner in the rapidly evolving EV market.

Acknowledging the significance of this achievement, Ricky Lao, Director of Product Planning at Hyundai Motor North America, expressed his delight, stating, “The IONIQ 6 capturing the hearts of voters to win the 2023 CleanTechnica Car of the Year Award is truly gratifying. Zachary Shahan, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of CleanTechnica hailed Hyundai’s consistent leadership in the electric vehicle sector, praising the IONIQ 6 for its aesthetic appeal, efficiency, and spacious interior.

Finalists for the U.S. market, including the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, Nissan Ariya, and Toyota BZ4X, were presented to readers, who were invited to vote for the vehicle they believed would have the most significant positive impact. The IONIQ 6 emerged as the clear winner, securing an impressive 81 percent of the vote, a testament to its widespread popularity and appeal among clean transportation enthusiasts.
