Ather Energy unveiled the 450 Apex, a special edition scooter commemorating the company’s decade-long journey. Described as the epitome of performance and design innovation among scooters nationwide, the 450 Apex introduces a fresh color palette and features the ‘Magic Twist,’ a city riding convenience.
Tarun Mehta, Ather Energy’s Co-Founder & CEO, expressed the company’s desire to celebrate their decennial milestone with a groundbreaking design and performance in the 450 Apex, now India’s fastest in terms of throttle response.
Mehta highlighted the unique design elements, vibrant satin colors, and a transparent panel that set the 450 Apex apart, making it an appealing choice for performance scooter enthusiasts across the country. Ather raised the performance bar with the introduction of ‘Warp+’ mode, achieving 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
The 450 Apex boasts a peak torque of 210 Nm, surpassing competitors and conventional ICE two-wheelers. The increased motor power facilitates sustained peak torque at higher speeds, resulting in a 30% faster 40–80 km/h speed compared to the 450X, now reaching a top speed of 100 km/h.
Ather introduced a revamped UI for the 450 Apex, offering a more immersive ride experience. The ‘Magic Twist’ represents a novel approach to regenerative braking, allowing the scooter to come to a complete halt even at 100% battery charge, offering 40% more braking force than other 2W regen systems in India. The transparent panel over an orange chassis showcases Ather’s commitment to clean engineering design, distinguishing the 450 Apex as India’s only scooter with this feature.
The ‘Indium Blue’ color scheme, characterized as the mattest blue, complements a bold orange, creating a unique combination. Ather offers a Delight Kit, including a handcrafted helmet, inbuilt Ather TPMS, neck gaiter, iron-on garment patch, and a specially designed keychain for 450 Apex customers.
The scooter also comes with a 5-year or 60,000-kilometer battery warranty and complimentary Ather Connect for 3 years. Bookings are open, with deliveries scheduled to commence in March 2024. Priced at INR 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, excluding subsidies), the 450 Apex promises a bold design and peak performance, marking a significant milestone for Ather Energy.
