GreenCell Mobility and VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) have announced a significant partnership aimed at supplying 1,000 electric buses over the next five years. This agreement solidified through a memorandum of understanding, outlines VECV’s commitment to providing 1,000 Eicher electric buses to GreenCell’s intercity bus service, NueGo.
Currently operational in more than 30 cities, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, and Chennai, NueGo has a strong presence in urban mobility.
VECV’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vinod Aggarwal, expressed their dedication to sustainability and decarbonizing city transportation, highlighting their focus on vehicle uptime and alternative fuel initiatives.
GreenCell Mobility’s Managing Director and CEO, Devndra Chawla, emphasized the partnership’s role in reshaping the mobility landscape and leading the way toward sustainable transportation. Both companies aim to collaborate closely, focusing on cutting-edge vehicle engineering, seamless data integration, and advanced safety features.
VECV, a collaboration between Eicher Motors and the Volvo Group, combines expertise from both entities. Meanwhile, GreenCell Mobility is supported by Eversource Capital, a climate impact investment firm, underlining the commitment to environmentally responsible transportation solutions.
