Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the latest EQE luxury electric SUV in the country, with a starting price of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). Positioned below the EQS in the Mercedes lineup, the EQE comes in a single-spec EQE 500 4MATIC variant and includes a 10-year battery warranty. Competing in the segment against the likes of the Audi Q8 e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and BMW iX, the EQE offers a comprehensive package in its top-spec 500 4MATIC trim.
Powering the EQE are two motors, one on each axle, producing 402 bhp and 858 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. Mercedes claims an impressive range of 550 km (WLTP) on a single charge, thanks to the 90.56 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The EQE comes standard with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and supports DC fast charging speeds up to 170 kW.
On the feature front, the 2023 Mercedes EQE SUV is generously equipped, featuring the 56-inch Hyperscreen dashboard as standard. This extensive unit consists of three screens: a fully digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system, and a third display for the front passenger. The infotainment systems run on the latest MBUX operating system. The vehicle also offers haptic controls on the steering wheel, multi-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, electrically adjustable seats, and a comprehensive safety suite, including nine airbags, ABS with EBD, and traction control.
The EQE SUV boasts dimensions of 4,863 mm in length, 1,685 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. Riding on 20-inch wheels, it features an air suspension system that can raise the ride height by 25 mm and includes the off-road package as standard for the Indian market. Visually, the model showcases a sealed-off blacked-out grille, aerodynamic wheels, and curved lines to enhance aerodynamics.
