Ola Electric, a prominent electric vehicle company in India, has significantly expanded its product range to encompass five different scooter models, priced from Rs 90,000 to Rs 150,000.
The company proudly announces that its updated S1 lineup has garnered an exceedingly positive response from customers, amassing over 75,000 bookings within a mere two weeks since its launch.
Claiming substantial benefits for users, particularly with the competitively priced S1X variant, Ola Electric asserts that customers can achieve monthly savings of up to Rs 2,600 and annual savings of Rs 30,000 in fuel and maintenance costs when compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters.
Such savings would enable customers to recoup the cost of their electric scooter investment within just three years. Likewise, S1 Air and S1 Pro owners can realize annual savings of Rs 23,000 (Rs 1,900/month) and Rs 13,000 (Rs 1,100/month) respectively.
Ola Electric unveiled the S1X e-scooter in three variants: S1 X+, S1 X (2kWh), and S1 X (3kWh). Boasting a 6kW motor, the S1 X+ and S1 X (3kWh) models feature a 3kWh battery with an asserted range of 151km and a top speed of 90kmph.
Meanwhile, the S1 X (2kWh) version, also armed with a potent 6kW motor, incorporates a 2kWh battery affording a range of 91km and a top speed of 85kmph. Priced at Rs 109,999, the S1 X+ can be purchased, with deliveries slated to commence next month. Reservations for the S1 X (3kWh) and S1 X (2kWh) models, priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 89,999 respectively, are currently open at Rs 999.
Deliveries for these models are scheduled to begin in December. Furthermore, Ola Electric introduced the second-generation S1 Pro, built upon a more integrated and advanced platform. Valued at Rs 147,499, the Gen-2 S1 Pro incorporates enhancements such as a twin-fork telescopic front suspension and a flat floorboard.
Notably, the upgraded model offers an extended range of 195km and a top speed of 120 kmph. Pre-orders for the S1 Pro Gen 2 are now available, with deliveries set to commence in mid-September.
An Ola spokesperson expressed the company’s commitment to accelerate India’s transition to electrification, emphasizing the value of their revitalized scooter lineup, which includes the S1 Pro, S1 X variants, and the recently launched S1 Air model. The spokesperson asserts that with these offerings, there is no longer any compelling reason to opt for traditional internal combustion engine products.
