Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), an affiliate of Tata Power, and Zoomcar, a prominent car sharing platform, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and providing a smooth and convenient charging experience for EV users across the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally executed between Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL) and Zoomcar in Mumbai. The signing event was attended by Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited; Mr. Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development for EV Charging at Tata Power; and Mr. Greg Moran, CEO and Co-Founder of Zoomcar. It’s worth noting that Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited.
This partnership endeavors to highlight Tata Power’s EZ Charge stations within the Zoomcar platform, concentrating on aiding current and potential electric vehicle (EV) owners in addition to Zoomcar’s existing clientele. By leveraging the wealth of information regarding Tata Power’s widespread EZ Charge network spanning the nation, these users will be able to conveniently access and simplify the EV charging process, effectively tackling common challenges associated with charging infrastructure utilization. This concerted effort is poised to stimulate higher EV listings on Zoomcar’s platform and attract potential customers towards electric mobility choices.Tata Power boasts an expansive EV charging infrastructure under the EZ Charge umbrella, encompassing more than 50,000 home chargers, 4370+ public and semi-public charging stations, and 250 bus charging points across 350 cities, including various highways. With an ambitious vision, the company aims to deploy 25,000 charging points over the next five years, significantly fortifying the national EV ecosystem and propelling the growth of sustainable mobility. Meanwhile, Zoomcar features a technology-driven platform encompassing over 20,000 cars spread across India, Indonesia, and Egypt.
