MG Motor India is making significant strides in the electric vehicle (EV) market and is on track to achieve over 25% of total sales from EVs this fiscal year, according to Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director of the company.
With the recent introduction of a top-end variant of its electric SUV ZS EV equipped with level two autonomous driving technology, priced at Rs 27.89 lakh for a limited period, MG Motor India is further enhancing its product portfolio.
The company has already surpassed the milestone of 10,000 unit cumulative sales of EVs in India. Gupta expressed confidence in meeting their target, stating that the percentage of EV sales will increase with the launch of new products and the growth of their current portfolio.
MG Motor India has witnessed a growth of 20.62% in total sales from January to June 2023, compared to the same period last year.
Gupta emphasized the potential for further growth in the EV sector, emphasizing the company’s commitment to bringing in innovative developments in products, ecosystems, and customer engagement.
The introduction of the top-end variant of the ZS EV, equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including traffic jam assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control, aims to enhance the driving experience and cater to consumer preferences for feature-loaded vehicles.
